2023 Kodokan Summer Course I
  "Kata, Lecture and others"

1. Objective
The main content of “Summer Course I” is Kata which should be mastered by high dan holders and is also an important requirement for dan promotion. Therefore, this is a meaningful course for high dan holders including Judo instructors. Participants perform Kata on the last day, and good performers will be awarded prizes.

2. Date
From July 17 (Mon) to July 22 (Sat) for 6 days

3. Subjects
Nage no Kata (5 hours)
Katame no Kata (5 hours)
Kime no Kata (5 hours)
Ju no Kata (5 hours)
Kodokan Goshin-jutsu (5 hours)
Koshiki no Kata (5 hours)
Itsutsu no Kata (2.5 hours)
Lecture and Kappo (2.5 hours)
Kata Performance (5 hours)

4.Instructors
Yoshihisa Doba 8th Dan, Director of Education & Instruction Department
And other Kodokan Instructors

5. Eligibility
Men: 4th dan or above   Women: 2nd dan or above
Please ask Education & Instruction Department about the possibility of acceptance if you don’t meet the above requirement. All participants must be members of Kodokan.(Membership fee 8,000JPY)

6. Fee
8,800 JPY
Payment should be completed in advance via a payment link we will send by e-mail.

7. Insurance
Kodokan does not provide any type of insurance. You are required to take out adequate insurance before leaving your home country. Kodokan will not be responsible for any injury or loss or damage to your property.

8. Others
(1)Participants will choice one Kata between Katame no Kata and Kime no Kata on July 19th and Ju no Kata and Kodokan Goshin-jutsu on 20st.
(2)Participants are required to show their Kodokan membership cards at the reception counter in order to check attendance every day.
(3)Kodokan can’t be a sponsor for any visa application.

2023 Kodokan Summer Course II
  "Techniques, lecture, randori, shiai"

1. Objective
The main purpose of “Summer Course II” is to strengthen participants through practice and to provide them with various explanations and practical training. We want participants to establish basis as well as brushing up favorite techniques, and furthermore, to learn new techniques. We are looking forward to active participation of university students, high school students, junior high school students and other young people.

2. Date
From July 24 (Mon) to July 28 (Fri) for 5 days

3. Course & Level
- Course A: from 1st dan to 3rd dan
- Course B: 1st kyu or below
- Course C: Junior high school students

4. Eligibility
Aged 13 or over and up to 3rd dan
Please ask Education & Instruction Department about the possibility of acceptance if you don’t meet the above requirements.
All participants must be members of Kodokan. (Membership fee 8,000 JPY)

5. Fee
6,600 JPY per person
